At Nelson GMC, you'll have the opportunity to join an established automotive group while being part of the growth of our newest location. We are hiring for a Full Line Technician and a Reconditioning Technician! Starting pay is $20-30/flag hour based on experience. Job Responsibilities Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues on customer vehicles. Perform inspections to identify necessary repairs and maintenance. Complete repairs accurately and efficiently according to manufacturer specifications. Perform routine maintenance and repairs, including brakes, suspension, steering, electrical systems, engine components, and other vehicle systems. Utilize diagnostic equipment and scan tools to troubleshoot vehicle concerns. Perform warranty and recall repairs according to manufacturer guidelines. Test drive vehicles when necessary to verify concerns and completed repairs. Communicate findings and recommended repairs clearly with Service Advisors and management. Complete repair orders and documentation accurately and in a timely manner. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition. Follow all dealership, manufacturer, and safety procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. QualificationsQualifications Previous professional automotive technician experience preferred. Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills. Knowledge of automotive electrical and mechanical systems. Ability to use diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and automotive repair equipment. Ability to accurately diagnose vehicle concerns and complete repairs efficiently. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Dependable with a positive attitude and strong work ethic. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must have own basic automotive technician tools. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Preferred Qualifications Previous dealership technician experience. GM or GMC experience and training. ASE certifications. Manufacturer certifications. Advanced diagnostic and electrical experience. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday. Ability to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and work in various positions around and underneath vehicles. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds. Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, vehicle lifts, and automotive repair equipment. Ability to enter and exit vehicles repeatedly throughout the workday. Ability to work in a shop environment with exposure to varying temperatures, noise, fumes, dust, and automotive chemicals.
