Job DetailsLevel: EntryJob Location: USVETS Waianae - Waianae, HI 96792Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: High SchoolSalary Range: $22.46 - $22.47 HourlyJob Shift: DayJob Category: Admin - ClericalResident Assistant   The Resident Assistant reports directly to the Lead Resident Assistant and/or the Program Manager at the applicable U.S.VETS site. This individual assists in the daily implementation of the day to day basic residential services.     FLSA Classification: Non-exempt     Responsibilities   Delivers basic services (such as shelter, food, hygiene products, etc.) to veterans served at the U.S.VETS transitional or permanent housing facility Ensures harmonious atmosphere at the site by facilitating communication between clinical staff, program staff, and client and helps maintain a therapeutic community environment Helps organize and deliver daily client services and support functions such as assistance moving into and out of the facility, meal periods for the clients enrolled in the programs, and distributing the weekly groups and classes scheduled for all program participants Helps handle and deliver client mail Assists clients to maximize quality of living in the facility by serving as the first point of contact for clients’ basic needs for their rooms Responsible for the preventing and de-escalating any verbal and physical altercations at the facility including submitting timely Incident Reports to the Lead Resident Assistant and Program Manager concerning these events Addresses client issues timely to ensure the non-interruption of services Communicates the sites needs to the Lead Resident Assistant to maintain supply inventory of supplies and ensures proper storage Assists with maintenance and upkeep of the facility and ensures readiness for inspections Assists with toxicology testing to promote a sober environment as part of internal and grant requirements Assists with implementation of all safety and emergency procedures at the site Assist with bed checks and room inspections to ensure a clean, safe, and hazardless environment Conducts various administrative duties including documentation of bed checks, inspections, incident reports, client logs, etc. Attends to all administrative needs related to tracking residential services provided at the facility Facilitates routine daily living activities for clients Adheres to the site work order procedure Staff who have a valid driver’s license and meet company insurance requirements may be requested to complete a provided driver training course and drive company vehicles for work-related activities to include client transportation Performs other duties as assigned QualificationsRequirements   High school diploma or equivalent Good communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively with residential staff Must promote client-centered philosophy and skilled in creating/maintaining a healthy environment Must be energetic, dedicated to mission and flexible Basic computer literacy and some proficiency in using applications in the Microsoft Office suite Experience with programs, client population, similar populations, or other relevant experience in social services Valid driver’s license required. Must meet company insurance requirements and complete a provided driver training course
