08-17 – Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) II
Position Overview
Sandy Mac Evolution LLC is seeking an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) II to support Department of Defense Special Access Program environments at Robins AFB, Georgia.
The ISSO II is responsible for maintaining the appropriate operational security posture of assigned information systems and supporting day-to-day cybersecurity activities within Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and Special Access Program (SAP) environments.
The selected candidate will work closely with the Information Systems Security Manager and Information System Owner to maintain system authorization documentation, implement configuration management controls, assess security impacts associated with system changes, monitor security controls, and support continuous cybersecurity operations.
Current Billet Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- IAT Level II or IAM Level II certification required.
- Prior experience in roles such as System Administrator, Network Administrator, or ISSO.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the ISSM in meeting assigned cybersecurity duties and responsibilities.
- Prepare, review, and update system authorization packages.
- Ensure approved procedures exist for clearing, sanitizing, and destroying hardware and media.
- Notify the ISSM of changes that may affect system authorization.
- Conduct periodic reviews of information systems for compliance with approved authorization packages.
- Coordinate hardware, software, and firmware changes with the ISSM and AO/DAO before implementation.
- Monitor system recovery activities to ensure security features and procedures are properly restored.
- Maintain current and accessible information-system security documentation.
- Collect, review, and document system audit records and anomalies.
- Complete required technical and security training associated with assigned duties.
- Execute cybersecurity portions of self-inspections and review system assessment plans.
- Identify cybersecurity vulnerabilities and support implementation of countermeasures.
- Prepare reports regarding security safeguards applied to information systems.
- Perform ISSO duties for internal and external customers.
- Conduct security-impact analyses for configuration-management changes affecting authorization boundaries.
Experience
- 2–5 years of related experience.
- Prior performance as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or ISSO.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required.
Certifications
- IAT Level II or IAM Level II certification required.
Security Clearance
- Active Top Secret clearance required.
- SCI eligibility required.
- Eligibility for access to Special Access Program information.
- Must be willing to undergo a Counterintelligence polygraph.
Other Requirements
- Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
