US Cannalytics is seeking a highly adaptive, detail-oriented and professional Sampling Agent to perform compliant cannabis sampling and secured transport operations across the state of Michigan.
This is a client-facing, field-based role that requires strong problem solving skills, professionalism, strong verbal communication skills, strict adherence to aseptic techniques, meticulous documentation and secure sample handling to ensure regulatory compliance and integrity from collection through laboratory intake.
Responsibilities
- Travel daily to licensed grower and processor facilities throughout Michigan (company vehicle provided or personal vehicle mileage reimbursed at the current IRS rate).
- Perform random and representative compliance sampling of cannabis and cannabis products in accordance with Michigan regulations.
- Apply strict aseptic techniques during sample collection to prevent contamination and preserve sample integrity.
- Accurately complete chain-of-custody forms, manifests, and electronic documentation using Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- Ensure secure, compliant transportation and timely transfer of samples to the laboratory.
- Assist with laboratory intake, accessioning, inventory tracking, and related documentation.
- Adapt to a varying daily schedule based on client needs and route demands.
- Maintain strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and professionalism in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment.
- Communicate clearly with clients and notify Laboratory Management of any unexpected requests or field scenarios.
- Maintain clean, organized field kits and transport vehicles.
Qualifications
Required:
- 21 years of age or older
- Valid driver's license and ability to pass Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review
- Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle
- Ability to pass background screening and meet state cannabis employment requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to move or lift up to 40 lbs
- Strong documentation accuracy and organizational skills
- Possess consistent and reliable transportation
Preferred:
- 2+ years of customer service experience
- Experience in regulated, compliance-based industries

WORKING ENVIRONMENT where essential functions of the job take place, may include:
- Frequent contacts and interruptions during the day.
- Video and/or audio surveillance for security purposes where laboratory activities are performed.
- Use of personal protection equipment to limit exposure to chemicals or other hazards found within a laboratory environment.
- Potential exposure to loud noises, fumes, or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.
- Extended time within a motor vehicle, either independently, or with another individual, as authorized by each state-specific requirements for cannabis laboratory sampling and secured transportation.

- Frequently standing, sitting, walking, reaching with arms and hands, use of hands, talking and hearing.
- Occasionally stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling and lifting or moving up to 40lbs.

- Ability to concentrate and consistently produce accurate work.
- Ability and willingness to experience non-ambient environmental conditions during field-sampling.
- Ability to consistently and safely operate a motor vehicle, including but not limited to being willing to self-certify they are free of a physical, auditory, or other limitation that may impact their ability to reasonably meet this requirement.
- Frequent travel and extended time in a motor vehicle.
