Role SummaryĀ
We areĀ seekingĀ a strategic, executionāorientedĀ SeniorĀ Business Planner to support theĀ Physical & Virtual Test PlatformĀ (PVTP)Ā organizationĀ within Digital Products. This role reports to theĀ Executive Director, PVTPĀ and partners closely with senior leaders,Ā crossāfunctionalĀ stakeholders, and other plannersĀ in the organizationĀ to ensure an integrated approach to communications,Ā talent enablement, and operations.Ā
This role willĀ be responsible forĀ a mix of strategic and tactical work,Ā including:Ā
Owning and executing our organizational communications strategy and rhythm (including All People Meetings), inĀ closeĀ partnership withĀ our communication partners and planners.Ā
Designing and improving how we communicate strategy, goals, and progress in a wayĀ that translatesĀ acrossĀ ourĀ orgĀ andĀ demonstratesĀ how our workĀ supportsĀ theĀ enterpriseĀ strategy.Ā
DrivingĀ highāimpactĀ strategic work by clarifying ambiguous problems and independently executing solutions in a fast-moving, transformational settingĀ
The ideal candidate combines strong organizational and project management capability with structured problemāsolving, clear storytelling, and the ability to influence across all levels of the organization.Ā
Key ResponsibilitiesĀ
Develop,Ā maintain, and execute an integrated organizational communications strategyĀ
Build and manage a communications calendar and narrative that connects strategy, priorities, and progress across the year.Ā
Manage and continually improve internal communication channels, including email, Slack, SharePoint, and Confluence, ensuring the right messages reach the right audiences.Ā
Partner closely with leadership on organizational artifacts (e.g., key wins, scorecards, workforce views, org presentations) to connect the data to clear narratives for leaders and employees.Ā
Own AllĀ People MeetingĀ (APM)Ā planning and delivery end-to-end, including storyline, content creation, speaker preparation,Ā logistics, feedback collection, and continuous improvement.Ā
Plan and executeĀ largeāscaleĀ leadership and employee engagement events. Responsible forĀ planning,Ā coordinatingĀ andĀ executing,Ā leadershipĀ offsites/summits,Ā cultureābuilding sessions, and employee forumsĀ
Partner with HRĀ andĀ otherĀ plannersĀ to ensureĀ our leadersĀ receive clear communication and signals on upcomingĀ programs that require awareness and actionĀ (ieĀ ā performance management cycles, annual requiredĀ training, etc.).Ā Ā
Partner withĀ leadershipĀ to ensure our communication strategy supports our senior leadershipĀ talent strategyĀ ā helping our leaders and employees understand what is expected of them and how we intend to support them all in their growth journey with GM.Ā
Partner withĀ leadershipĀ and HR partners to analyzeĀ ourĀ organizationalĀ engagement,Ā Workplace of Choice surveyĀ results, andĀ other gathered employee insights,Ā helpingĀ translate findings intoĀ action plans whereĀ required.Ā
Plan and supportĀ connection and recognition momentsĀ (e.g., employee spotlights, key wins, forums, listening sessions) that help employees feel connected to their work, the enterprise, and their personal growth.Ā
IdentifyĀ and drive process and operating rhythm improvements that deliver measurable impact, improve how teams work together, or unlock new capabilities.Ā
AssistĀ in preparingĀ executiveāready presentations, reports, and briefing materials that tell a cohesive story using both qualitative and quantitative insights.Ā
Collaborate with theĀ Program ManagementĀ OfficeĀ (PMO)Ā and program teams, as needed, to align storytelling and updates on key initiatives, without duplicating program management responsibilities.Ā
Support forecasting, annual planning and capital prioritization as part of LTP (long-term planning) activitiesĀ
Drive finance coordination and tracking activities for the business unit (purchasingĀ requests, routing, approvals,Ā etc)Ā
Support contract management, renewals, and budget trackingĀ
Minimum QualificationsĀ
Bachelorās degree in Business, Communications, orĀ a relatedĀ field.Ā
5+ years of experience in business planning, strategy, organizational communications, or operations; automotive or technology industry experience preferred.Ā
Demonstrated experience designing and executing organizational communications and/or leading strategic initiatives for senior leaders.Ā
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven and AI-first mindset; able toĀ leverageĀ AI effectively to translate complex information into clear insights, narratives, documents, reports, and other high-quality deliverables.Ā
Excellent written and verbal communication, storytelling, and presentation skills; adept at simplifying complexity for broad audiences.Ā
Proven ability to influence and collaborate with seniorālevel executives and crossāfunctional partners.Ā
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fastāpaced, dynamic, and often ambiguous environment.Ā
Preferred QualificationsĀ
Experience working inĀ cybersecurity,Ā engineering,Ā IT, or data/analytics organizations.Ā
Prior experience in a Chief of Staff, business planning, strategy, or communicationsāfocused role.Ā
Experience working closely with Engineering Business Managers, Finance, or PMO in a large, matrixed organization.Ā
