Coastal Engineering is seeking an experienced聽Senior Estimator聽to lead estimating and preconstruction activities for dredging projects throughout the East Coast.
This is a key position within a growing organization and will play an important role in identifying opportunities, developing competitive estimates, evaluating project risk, and supporting the company's continued expansion into new markets.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned marine construction professional who understands not only how to price a project, but聽how the work will be performed in the field.
Key Responsibilities
路 聽Review project plans, specifications, scopes, and bid requirements
路 聽Develop accurate estimates, take-offs, and pricing for marine construction and commercial diving projects
路 聽Evaluate labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and production requirements
路 聽Develop project approach, means and methods, and preliminary schedules
路 聽Solicit and review pricing from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors
路 聽Identify project risks, exclusions, and potential cost impacts
路 聽Participate in site visits, pre-bid meetings, and discussions with clients, engineers, and subcontractors
路 聽Prepare and finalize competitive bids and proposals
路 聽Work closely with Operations and Project Management to support successful project turnover
路 聽Assist with change order pricing, cost analysis, and other estimating needs as projects progress
Requirements
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in dredging, marine construction or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of estimating experience
- Strong understanding of dredging operations, equipment, production, and means and methods
- Experience estimating dredging projects preferred
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating software
- Experience working with owners, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors
- Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Experience with USACE, NAVFAC, USCG, DOT and other government contracts.
- Experience with dredging and marine environmental projects.
- Bachelor鈥檚 degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
