As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced Superintendent to lead field operations and the successful execution of commercial mechanical construction projects throughout the Washington, DC area. This role is ideal for a hands-on field leader who takes pride in building strong teams, maintaining safe and productive jobsites, and delivering high-quality projects from startup through closeout.
What You'll Do
Lead Field Operations

Oversee day-to-day jobsite operations from project startup through closeout

Lead and coordinate field crews, Foremen, subcontractors, equipment, and materials

Develop and maintain project schedules, sequencing, and manpower plans

Monitor field productivity and ensure project milestones and deadlines are met

Coordinate work with Project Managers, general contractors, subcontractors, and other trades

Participate in project meetings with clients, general contractors, engineers, and project partners

Identify field challenges early and develop solutions to keep projects moving
Drive Safety & Quality

Promote and enforce VMG safety policies, OSHA requirements, and project-specific safety procedures

Conduct routine jobsite safety inspections and reinforce safe work practices

Identify and address potential hazards, incidents, and near misses

Ensure installations meet project drawings, specifications, applicable codes, and VMG quality standards
-
Monitor workmanship and coordinate inspections and quality-control activities

Maintain accountability for company tools, equipment, materials, and vehicles
Manage Project Performance

Plan manpower, materials, equipment, and resources to support project schedules

Monitor daily production, labor productivity, and overall field progress

Coordinate material and equipment deliveries to prevent unnecessary delays

Track project costs, invoices, and subcontractor activities

Complete daily reports, timesheets, job logs, schedules, and other required documentation

Maintain organized project records throughout construction and closeout
Lead & Develop the Team

Provide day-to-day leadership and direction to field crews and subcontractors

Set clear expectations for safety, productivity, quality, and professionalism

Coach and develop Foremen and other field employees

Promote accountability, teamwork, and strong communication across the jobsite

Help identify and develop future field leaders

Lead by example and foster a respectful, results-driven work environment
What You Bring
-
5+ years of experience supervising commercial construction projects
-
Commercial HVAC, Plumbing, Mechanical, or MEP experience strongly preferred
-
Proven experience leading field teams and managing day-to-day jobsite operations

Strong understanding of construction scheduling, sequencing, manpower planning, and cost control
-
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documents

Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
-
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction/project management technology

OSHA 30 preferred or willingness to obtain

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Preferred Experience

Experience leading large-scale commercial mechanical construction projects
-
Strong background in HVAC, plumbing, piping, or related mechanical systems
-
Experience managing projects from startup through closeout

Experience coordinating with owners, general contractors, Project Managers, engineers, subcontractors, and other trades
-
Proven ability to manage manpower, schedules, and field productivity
