About the Position

B&B Solutions US LLC is seeking an expert-level Federal Classification Specialist and Team Lead to support a Federal agency’s Human Capital Management Office (HCMO). In this critical role, you will provide comprehensive advisory services, technical deliverables, and specialized expertise in federal position management. You will ensure the agency meets statutory, regulatory, and mission-critical workforce needs while serving as the primary liaison between our team and agency leadership.

Location: Washington, DC (On-site)

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct expert evaluations for General Schedule, SES, SL, and political positions.
  • Produce highly accurate classification packages, including Position Descriptions (PDs), evaluation statements, FLSA determinations, and OF8 cover sheets that require no substantive government edits.
  • Perform desk audits, interviews, and organizational structure analysis. 
  • Respond to requests for accretion of duties and support agency-wide classification projects.
  • Serve as the Key Personnel On-Site Team Lead. 
  • Manage direct interaction with the Contracting Officer (CO) and COR regarding contract performance, responsiveness, and workload management, while ensuring strict quality control over all team deliverables.
  • Provide expert consultation on complex HR issues and executive resources. 
  • Actively collaborate with and mentor inexperienced agency HR personnel to facilitate knowledge transfer and build internal agency capacity.
  • Ensure all work rigidly adheres to 5 U.S.C. Chapter 51, applicable OPM classification standards, Executive resources regulations (5 CFR Part 214), and Merit System Principles.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent professional experience).
  • 10+ years of demonstrated experience applying federal classification standards and position management principles.
  • Proven track record classifying positions at all grade levels and job families, with mandatory, specific experience in SES and SL classification requirements.
  • Strong background in drafting HR policies, SOPs, and directly applying OPM standards (including the Classifier’s Handbook and Occupational Group Handbook).
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to maintain secure handling of highly sensitive personnel data (Privacy Act compliant) and deliver premier customer service.
