We are looking for a Therapy Coordinator to join our team!

Status: Full Time, 30-40 hours per week

Schedule: 8am-4:30pm

Summary/Objective

Responsible for assisting with departmental functioning in rehabilitation services per instruction of the Rehab Services Director. Assists with patient care appropriate to skill level when other staff assistant resources are exhausted.

Essential Functions

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  1. Maintains and continuously updates patient schedules for clinic, home health, nursing home and hospital rehab patients.

  2. Maintains inventory of administrative supplies for the office area at appropriate stock levels for the clinic.

  3. Responsible for answering phones, relaying messages in verbal and/or written form using duplicate books.

  4. Responsible for providing patients insurance forms and receives completed form prior to therapy evaluation.

  5. Coordinates rescheduling when staff members are away from the clinic due to illness, emergency, etc.

  6. Maintains filing system in a manner which is easily accessible to staff for forms, patient records, etc.

  7. Assists clinic treatment as needed and predetermined by the physical or occupational therapist in accordance with aide training.

  8. Records treatments administered by staff as reported following treatment on appropriate documents for billing.

  9. Records patient charges and sends them to the data processing department/billing office.

  10. Assists with reports for quality assessment programs.

  11. Interacts with patients/families and answers questions regarding treatment, scheduling, etc.

  12. Ensures patient’s safety at all times when the patient is under the responsibility of the department.

  13. Performs clerical duties related to transcribing of the physical therapist, physical therapist assistant, and the occupational therapist notes of patients

  14. Demonstrates commitment to customer satisfaction.

  15. Is constantly conscious of unsafe or potentially unsafe working conditions and makes every effort to correct or report those hazards to the proper person.

  16. Contributes to organizational operations by performing other related duties as may be assigned.

Required Education and Experience

  1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred

  2. On the job training or formal therapy aide course or administrative assistant course is preferred.  6 months experience is preferred.

The hospital also operates a skilled nursing facility, Iroquois Resident Home, which is attached to the hospital property.
