Job Summary:

Fulton County Health Center is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Pre-Service Center Specialist to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for our patients by pre-registering and scheduling their upcoming tests or procedures. The Pre-Service Center Specialist communicates with patients over the phone to verify insurance coverage, assess benefits, and complete pre-registration at least 10 days prior to their service date.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Contact patients via phone to pre-register and schedule tests or procedures.
  • Verify insurance coverage and benefits, ensuring compliance with financial clearance policies.
  • Complete patient pre-registration and scheduling at least 10 days before service.
  • Screen patients for financial clearance eligibility and address any questions or concerns.
  • Maintain a positive, professional, and compassionate attitude when interacting with patients and their representatives.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate scheduling and data entry.
  • Handle patient information with strict confidentiality and attention to detail.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Completion of Medical Terminology coursework.
  • Minimum six months of experience in a medical office setting; one year of experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Lotus Notes, and Meditech Expanse registration and scheduling modules.
  • Exceptional phone etiquette and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to foster positive relationships with patients, their families, staff, and the general public.
  • Efficient multitasking and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
  • Associate degree or certification as a Medical Assistant, or Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA), and/or successful completion of the FCHC Registration Certification preferred.
  • Experience in patient scheduling, registration, and financial clearance processes.
