CDIT is seeking an experienced Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to support a highly secure, mission-critical environment. This role will be responsible for the administration, availability, performance, and resiliency of enterprise Oracle database environments. The ideal candidate will bring extensive hands-on experience with Oracle 19c, Data Guard, Data Guard Broker, FSFO, RMAN, and Linux, with the ability to independently troubleshoot and support complex database environments.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and support Oracle 19c databases in a Data Guard configuration consisting of one primary and two standby databases.
  • Manage and maintain Oracle Data Guard using Data Guard Broker.Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Fast-Start Failover (FSFO), including multiple observers across distributed environments.
  • Perform routine and emergency Oracle patching (RU/CPU), including planning, testing, deployment, and post-patch validation.
  • Monitor database health, performance, and availability using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
  • Execute and validate switchover and failover operations, including primary database reinstatement.Troubleshoot Data Guard issues, including transport/apply lag, archive gaps, and broker-related errors.
  • Maintain backup and recovery processes using RMAN, including FRA and Flashback Database.Support database migrations, performance analysis, and tuning using tools such as AWR and ASH.
  • ​Perform Linux administration and maintain shell scripts supporting database operations.Support database security and highly available enterprise database environments.


Requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 10+ years of Oracle Database Administration experience supporting enterprise environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Oracle 19c on Linux.
  • Expertise with Oracle Data Guard, Data Guard Broker, and FSFO.
  • Experience with RMAN backup and recovery and Oracle RAC.
  • Experience with Oracle patching and lifecycle management.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
  • Experience with database migration, troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and tuning.
  • Proficiency in Linux administration and shell scripting.
  • Current CompTIA Security+ CE certification.
  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with Lifestyle Polygraph (LS Poly).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Current or recent SYS3 PRIVAC level.
  • Experience supporting multi-site FSFO observer configurations.
  • Experience with Oracle Database Vault and/or Label Security.
  • Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control.
  • Experience with database security and data migration.
  • Experience with AWR/ASH performance tuning and analysis.
  • Experience with Oracle Flashback Database and FRA.
  • Experience supporting highly secure or classified environments.
