  • Key responsibilities include managing monthly close processes, financial statement preparation, tax compliance, and cross-functional partnership with various teams.
  • The role offers a competitive salary along with benefits such as stock options, medical insurance, and 15 days of PTO, plus additional perks like Whistic Fridays.
  • Whistic is dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace where employees can thrive and contribute their unique experiences.

The Role:

We're hiring a Senior Finance & Accounting Manager, reporting to the CEO, to be our strategic finance partner, building models and directly influencing decisions, while owning our core accounting processes. If you want full ownership of a finance function and move easily between strategy and hands-on accounting, we'd love to hear from you. This is a fully remote role based in the U.S.

What You’ll Do:

  • Own the monthly close, reconciliations, and financial statement prep, ensuring the books are accurate and audit-ready
  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations including AP/AR and vendor/expense management
  • Handle state and local tax compliance (sales tax, franchise tax, business registrations)
  • Partner cross-functionally with Sales, RevOps, People, and Leadership to help shape key financial decisions and influence business strategy
  • Build and maintain budgets & financial models
  • Own cash flow visibility and monthly/quarterly forecasting to support leadership decision-making
  • Prepare financial reporting and analysis for leadership and board meetings
  • Identify and implement process improvements as the company scales
  • Curious and proactive about using AI and modern tools to work smarter, not just harder
  • Partner with the People & Culture Manager on payroll (as approver), compensation, and state/insurance administration — with Finance owning sales tax and tax account management.

What You'll Need:

  • 5+ years of experience spanning both accounting and finance/FP&A
  • Strong ownership of monthly close, reconciliations, tax compliance, and core accounting fundamentals
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
  • Comfort operating as a lean team of one — capable of context-switching between transactional accounting work and strategic analysis
  • Experience partnering directly with cross-functional teams such as Sales, RevOps, People, or GTM teams
  • Strong MS Excel or Google Suite products and modeling skills
  • Experience with Rillet, Rippling, Databrick a plus
  • Excellent communication skills — comfortable presenting analysis and recommendations to non-finance stakeholders and leadership
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA or equivalent a plus but not required

Benefits:

  • Stock options
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Company paid life insurance
  • Internet and wellness stipend
  • Mental health benefit
  • Paid parental leave
  • 18 Paid Holidays
  • 15 Days PTO (All available your 1st day) + 2 additional days each year of employment!
  • 3 Whistic DNA Days- Company-paid "Family Day", "Self Day", & "Community Day"
  • Whistic Fridays- Work ends at 3:00 PM every Friday
  • A world-class culture and employee experience!
