Responsibilities

Expectations- Engages and leads Team Members to accomplish day-to-day tactical objectives in support of company and department goals.  Leads by example to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures in support of safety, quality, delivery, cost and morale (SQDCM) initiatives. Embraces and promotes company core values to establish and maintain a culture committed to ethical practices, legal compliance, and a union-free environment.  Leads efforts in developing self and others to ensure that a knowledgeable and skilled workforce is prepared to overcome current and future challenges. 

Role(s) – Supports Logistics team through providing direction and management to subordinates, investigates and resolves issues, monitors daily delivery schedule and oversees the unpacking of materials in the warehouse.

Responsibilities-                                                                                                        

  • Create and maintain a positive working environment that supports having a union-free workplace.
  • Meet daily goals through continuous improvement and teamwork.
  • Seek (OFI) opportunity for improvement in safety, quality, productivity and cost delivery.
  • Assure that all work is performed within specifications.
  • Maintain and ensure service records and inspections are completed for forklifts and tuggers.
  • Maintain safety procedures including conducting incident investigations, completing reports and corrective actions.
  • Ensure all customer supplied packaging is accounted for and returned in good condition.
  • Provide direction to Team Leads and all warehouse staff (e.g. receiving schedules, unpacking, line feeding, housekeeping, etc.)
  • Assist in the setup and maintenance for an accurate inventory control system.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance of procedures in warehouse within and outside of department (e.g. material handlers leaving materials and packaging in a neat and organized manner).
  • Ensure the proper disposal of all non-reusable cardboard or skids.
  • Ensure all EDI transmissions are properly processed in a timely manner.
  • Investigate and resolve issues with customers and tier 2 suppliers (e.g. DTR’s, receiving discrepancies, customer relations, etc.).
  • Control CKD warehouse inventory and communicate discrepancies to the Purchasing Department.
  • Gather and report any evidence of damaged materials and equipment to Assistant Manager or above for chargeback claims.
  • Oversee that Team Leaders are following C-TPAT compliance and resolve any issues that may occur.
  • Manage and maintain shipping containers from post port per C-TPAT and MOBIS requirements.
  • Oversee that materials are being unpacked and placed in the correct area according to the warehouse mapping.
  • Monitor delivery schedule and ensure all processes are being followed.
  • Ensure individuals operating PIV (Powered Industrial Vehicles) are operating the vehicles properly and following safety procedures.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

 

Experience: 3+ years

Managerial Experience: N/A

Education: High School diploma/GED required

Degree Field: N/A

Equivalent Experience/Education: 3-5 years of logistics experience in manufacturing/automotive environment

Communication Skills: Intermediate

Foreign Language Required: No.  If yes, what language? N/A

Foreign Language Skill Level: N/A

Mathematical Skills: Intermediate

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a valid PIV license
