Lead. Coach. Desk. Drive Results.

A HIGH-PERFORMING DEALERSHIP LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITY

Albrecht CDJR of Westboro is seeking an exceptional Automotive General Sales Manager (GSM) with a proven record of high-volume sales production, strong gross performance, and building high-performing sales teams.

This is not a status-quo opportunity. We are looking for a proven dealership leader with the experience, energy, discipline, and leadership ability to turn the needle—taking an underperforming sales operation and moving it into the top tier of the region.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on, highly accountable dealership operator who knows how to build winning teams, improve processes, increase volume, protect gross, and consistently deliver results.

THE OPPORTUNITY

As General Sales Manager, you will lead the dealership's New and Used Vehicle Sales operations and work closely with the General Manager and dealership leadership to drive volume, gross, profitability, market share, and customer satisfaction.

Key objectives include:

  • Increase New and Used Vehicle sales volume and market ranking
  • Improve front-end and total gross profitability
  • Desk deals strategically while maximizing volume, gross, and customer satisfaction
  • Improve closing ratios, salesperson productivity, appointment shows, and sold percentages
  • Strengthen lead response, follow-up, CRM, BDC, and Internet sales performance
  • Improve inventory turn, aging, pricing, and market competitiveness
  • Recruit, develop, motivate, and retain high-performing sales professionals
  • Lead and develop Sales Managers, F&I Managers, BDC/Internet personnel, and Sales Consultants
  • Audit and review F&I deals and strengthen Sales/F&I coordination
  • Improve CSI, customer satisfaction, and the overall customer experience
  • Establish a culture of accountability, urgency, and consistent execution
  • Position the dealership among the top-performing stores in the region

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales Leadership & Performance

  • Lead all New and Used Vehicle Sales operations.
  • Establish and execute daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual sales objectives.
  • Monitor KPIs, identify performance gaps, and implement immediate corrective action.
  • Drive consistent sales processes from initial customer contact through delivery.
  • Maintain a high-accountability culture focused on measurable results.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop the entire sales organization.
  • Recruit, hire, train, motivate, and retain top talent.
  • Identify talent gaps, strengthen management, and develop future leaders.
  • Hold managers and salespeople accountable for activity, performance, and results.
  • Create a culture where high performance is expected, recognized, and rewarded.

Volume, Gross & Profitability

  • Develop strategies to increase retail volume while protecting profitability.
  • Monitor gross, PVR, closing ratios, lead conversion, appointment performance, and productivity.
  • Partner with F&I leadership to maximize finance and product penetration.
  • Analyze market conditions, competitive pricing, and used vehicle profitability.

Inventory, CRM & Digital Sales

  • Monitor inventory levels, aging, pricing, market competitiveness, and inventory turn.
  • Partner with Used Vehicle Management and Acquisition teams to optimize inventory.
  • Develop strategies to move aged inventory while minimizing unnecessary gross loss.
  • Ensure effective CRM utilization, lead response, follow-up, appointment setting, and Internet sales performance.
  • Leverage digital retailing and Internet strategies to increase market share.

Customer Experience, Compliance & Strategy

  • Maintain a strong customer-first culture and monitor CSI, reviews, and complaints.
  • Ensure compliance with manufacturer requirements and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Partner with the General Manager to execute dealership growth strategies.
  • Analyze sales reports, financial performance, market share, inventory, expenses, and departmental KPIs.
  • Identify opportunities to increase market penetration and dealership profitability.

WHAT WE REQUIRE

  • Minimum 3 years of current Automotive General Sales Manager experience in a franchised new-vehicle dealership.
  • Proven success managing a high-volume New and Used Vehicle Sales operation.
  • Proven track record of increasing sales volume and profitability.
  • Strong and extensive desking experience.
  • Previous F&I experience required.
  • Proven ability to recruit, develop, and retain high-performing sales teams.
  • Strong understanding of dealership financial statements and departmental profitability.
  • Demonstrated success managing through KPIs and performance metrics.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

We are looking for a true dealership operator—not simply a title holder.

You are:

  • A Proven Producer – You have consistently delivered high-volume sales and measurable results.
  • A Builder – You know how to recruit talent, develop people, strengthen managers, and build winning teams.
  • A Coach – You lead from the floor, work deals, review numbers, conduct one-on-ones, and develop people every day.
  • A Strategist – You understand volume, gross, market share, inventory, pricing, CRM, and dealership financial performance.
  • An Accountability Leader – You establish expectations, measure performance, address under-performance, and drive results.
  • A Change Agent – You can diagnose an underperforming operation and change its trajectory.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

Success will be measured through:

  • Increased sales volume and market ranking
  • Increased front-end and total gross
  • Improved salesperson productivity and closing ratios
  • Improved Internet/BDC conversion
  • Stronger inventory turn
  • Improved CSI and customer satisfaction
  • Increased employee retention
  • Development of a stronger management team
  • Consistent achievement of monthly and annual objectives

Our goal is not incremental improvement. Our goal is to build a sales organization that competes at the top of the region.

THIS IS AN OPPORTUNITY FOR A LEADER WHO WANTS TO WIN.

If you are a high-performing GSM who has demonstrated the ability to produce results, build teams, and transform sales operations, we want to hear from you.
