Position Overview:
UKG is seeking a Lead Revenue Accountant to lead complex revenue accounting and technical accounting activities across the organization. This role serves as a key advisor on revenue recognition matters, including contract reviews, standalone selling price analyses, policy development, and accounting positions related to new products and business initiatives. The ideal candidate will partner with Accounting, Commercial Finance, Legal, Product Management, and external auditors to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP while driving process improvements and supporting strategic business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
• Research, analyze, and document complex accounting conclusions in formal accounting memorandums in accordance with ASC 606 and Company accounting policies.
• Lead standalone selling price (SSP) analyses for existing and new products, including data gathering, methodology development, periodic reassessments, and documentation of conclusions.
• Review complex customer contracts and non-standard terms, evaluating revenue recognition implications and recommending solutions that balance business objectives and compliance requirements.
• Serve as a technical accounting subject matter expert and advisor for revenue recognition matters, researching accounting guidance, developing supportable accounting positions, and providing recommendations to management, business stakeholders, and external auditors.
• Lead revenue-related projects and strategic initiatives, including system implementations, business process transformations, control enhancements, policy updates, and support for new business offerings.
• Partner with Commercial Finance, Legal, Sales Operations, Product Management, and Billing teams to evaluate business challenges and develop scalable accounting processes.
• Develop and maintain revenue accounting policies, procedures, and internal control documentation while ensuring compliance with SOX requirements.
• Analyze revenue trends, key performance metrics, and emerging business activities, providing insights and recommendations to leadership.
• Act as a primary contact for external auditors and internal stakeholders on revenue-related matters.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives with moderate complexity and risk, coordinating activities across multiple teams to achieve project objectives.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior team members, promoting best practices and supporting professional development.

Qualifications:
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with a combination of public accounting and/or corporate accounting experience.
• Demonstrates knowledge in applying ASC 606 to complex software, SaaS, subscription, and service-based revenue arrangements.
• Experience preparing technical accounting memorandums and supporting accounting conclusions through internal and external audits.
• Strong knowledge of standalone selling price (SSP) methodologies and revenue allocation concepts.
• Experience developing accounting policies, SOX control documentation, and process improvement initiatives.
• CPA preferred.

The pay range for this position is $102,300 to $115,000. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and work location. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible to participate in a performance-based bonus plan and to receive restricted stock unit awards as part of total compensation.
