Job Title: Mechanic Vision Technician B – Vials Manufacturing 

 

Reports to: Maintenance / Technical Manager 

Summary Description:
 

Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as fans, motors, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and compressors, etc. Repairs and maintains all electrical equipment. Repairs and maintains all production machines and equipment, such as, vial machines, gauging systems, conveyors, transfers, sulfur systems, lehrs, auto packers, vision systems, shrink machines, etc. Repairs and maintains utilities, air handling equipment, normal plant lighting, and material handling equipment. Performs all instructed preventative maintenance. 

 

Job Duties:

 

  • The ability to communicate both orally and in writing. 
  • Must be able to read and interpret written documents when required. Average math skills are required.
  • Ability to read and understand calipers, attribute gauges, blueprints, and spec sheets
  • Must have mechanical and electrical ability.
  • Must have good attendance, good attitude, and good job performance.
  • Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
  • Repairs or replaces defective parts. Installs special functional and structural parts in devices. Lubricates and cleans parts.
  • Set up and operate lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make repair parts and repairs malfunctioning parts.
  • Repairs electrical equipment. Utilizes a voltage meter and/or oscilloscope to troubleshoot electrical equipment. Perform basic wiring and electrical installation.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Utilizes blueprints to assemble and fix machinery.
  • Complete maintenance request with parts used and action taken.
  • Performs preventive maintenance as instructed.
  • Performs all maintenance safely and thoroughly.
  • Required as needed to have a company issued forklift license and operating fork truck when necessary.
  • Performs building maintenance.
  • Is an active member of the emergency response team
  • Required to assist with all job set-ups (sulfur, tube feeder, chutes, transfer, etc.)
  • Assure operators have supplies needed (clean swabs, sulfur, etc.)
  • Must use and document all lockout/tagout as needed
  • Must document all hot works as required
  • Utilizes technical bulletins as required.
  • CMMS input of work orders as required.
  • Follow safety rules and company procedures.
  • Eliminate any unsafe acts.
  • Communicate with the customer and each other.
  • Be Crossed Trained as Vision Tech
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities as needed.
  • Follow the 4 C's outlined in the QMS policy - communication, commitment, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction.
  • Promotes teamwork in all areas.
  • Exemplifies all safety, health and environment rules, company rules, regulations and ISO procedures and work instructions

Education / Experience / Knowledge / Skills Required

 

Education:

 

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience

 

Experience:

 

  • Demonstrated ability to perform at current level

 

Specific Knowledge:

 

  • Mechanical and electrical ability.
