Job Description Summary:

Responsible for planning, organization, and coordination of all respiratory services. Responsible for all respiratory products including, but not limited to: Nebulizers, CPAP, BIPAP, Pulse Oximeters, Non-Invasive Ventilator Devices, Apnea Monitors, Cylinders, Compressors, Oxygen Concentrators, and Suction Machines, home ventilators, etc. Responsible for training and supervision of all staff therapists at MCMP. Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating patient care for patients age neonate to geriatrics. Manages all aspects of liquid oxygen services and record keeping. Perform technical procedures involving the use and maintenance of respiratory equipment and related products, including patient and caregiver training. Hold training sessions with staff as deemed necessary. Maintaining inventories and all paperwork/databases associated with these duties. Under the supervision of the Director, MCMP/Medical Center Infusion Services. The employee is subject to call back and overtime as required by the hospital.

Responsibilities

Thorough understanding of and compliance with all respiratory care and clinical policies and procedures; assures and monitors compliance to regulatory standards.
 Maintains accurate and proper records for respiratory patient files, including a computer database.
 Assures and monitors set-up, instruction, delivery, and follow-up of respiratory equipment by MCMP Respiratory Therapists.
 Coordinates the routine maintenance and follow-ups of respiratory products in the patient's home.
 Responsible for monitoring the cleaning and storage of respiratory equipment.
 Responsible for maintaining respiratory inventory and supplies; evaluates and recommends equipment for respiratory services.
 Responsible for completion of patient files including instructions, with signatures and forwarded to billing.
 Interviews, trains, assigns, monitors work, evaluates performance, counsels, and disciplines Respiratory Therapist personnel at MCMP.
 Participate in the marketing of respiratory products for MCMP in the West Tennessee area.
 Available 24 hours, 7 days per week for an on-call emergency.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:  High School diplomaCertified Respiratory Therapist through college and state licensure 
LICENSURE, REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION:Certification of RRTCPR certificationState licensure 
EXPERIENCE: Knowledge of Medicare and TennCare regulations as applicable to the billing and reimbursement system of a Home Medical Equipment agency as acquired through a minimum of 2 years experience in the HME business, or proper training of such.
