CEL Critical Power is a global provider of mission-critical power solutions operating at the center of the AI, hyperscale data center and critical infrastructure ecosystem. An Irish-based manufacturer, distributor and exporter of electrical switchgear, controls and related products with over 40 years of experience, CEL is now firmly focused on supplying the global data center industry at scale. Operating from our 500,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Williamsburg, Virginia, we aim to double in size each year for the next three years.
Position PurposeThe Test Technician ensures products meet established quality, safety, and performance requirements through inspection, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation activities on switchgear, PDUs, and related power distribution products.
*Position is on-site in Williamsburg VA from 7am - 3:30pm EST
Key Responsibilities- Perform functional, electrical, and mechanical tests on low-voltage switchgear assemblies.
- Verify wiring, torque settings, and component installation against engineering drawings.
- Conduct insulation resistance, continuity, and operational testing.
- Participate in FAT, FOK, and FWT customer testing processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues identified during testing.
- Maintain test reports, quality records, and non-conformance documentation.
- Operate and maintain test equipment including multimeters, insulation testers, and hi-pot testers.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures including PPE and Lockout/Tagout requirements.
- Associate’s degree in electrical power distribution or related field OR +3 years’ experience working in an Electrical Testing role.
- Experience in product testing, and inspection.
- Experience working within a Manufacturing environment.
- Experience in Microsoft Packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Expertise in power distribution products such as switchgear, switchboards, PDUs, RPPs etc.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention-to-detail, and multitasking capability.
- Professional communication skills suitable for interfacing with customers.
- NFPA 70E Certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Knowledge of UL891, UL62368-1, UL508A, UL67, UL1008, UL1008S and UL1558 standards.
- Knowledge of applicable industry standards and regulations, including UL, NEMA, ANSI, NETA, and NFPA 70E.
