Fire Alarm Service Sales Estimator:

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent. Valid Driver's License

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Technician, Salesperson or estimating in the fire alarm industry

• Familiarity with and ability to read, interpret, and apply NFPA and NEC Code

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, and estimating software

• Ability to create basic fire alarm layouts and perform material take-offs

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Self-starter with ability to use independent judgement

• Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to deliver high-quality results by deadlines

• Ability to work effectively within a team as well as independently

• Able to walk construction sites and heavy industrial sites including climbing stairs and ladders

• Desire to learn estimating strategies and techniques and how they would support corporate objectives

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Grow the customer base by working with the Manager and Coordinator to follow up on leads and strengthen relationships with current customers.
  • Work with the Coordinator to capture discrepancy work from inspection reports and provide quotes to customers.
  • Provide contract cost after the first-pass design, including the material list, other fees, and any risk assessment.
  • Work with vendors to secure the best pricing.
  • Work with the Manager to establish the sell price.
  • Provide the finished quote or bid to the Manager for approval.
  • Consult with the Coordinator and Manager to establish timelines for complex contracts when the customer has the required timeline.
  • Provide required documentation to assigned Field Supervisor after receipt of the signed contract.
  • Send the contracts awarded to Design and modify the material list before providing it to the Coordinator.
