As a Logistics Coordinator, you will play an important role in supporting daily transportation operations and helping ensure freight moves efficiently and in accordance with customer and operational expectations. This position is responsible for monitoring active shipments, communicating with drivers, carriers, and internal teams, as well as assisting with the timely resolution of operational issues throughout the shipment lifecycle.

The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This role requires strong communication, documentation, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, along with a high level of urgency and accountability. A strong sales mindset, negotiation skills, and the ability to build and maintain professional relationships are essential to successfully managing carrier relationships and securing competitive freight capacity. The successful candidate must be able to remain professional and solution-focused when responding to time-sensitive operational challenges.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Monitor active shipments to help ensure timely pickup, transit, and delivery.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with drivers, carriers, and internal teams regarding operational updates and shipment requirements.
  • Provide timely, clear, and professional communication to buyers and sellers regarding shipment status, updates, delays, and other service exceptions.
  • Identify and assist with resolving operational exceptions and service disruptions, including delays, breakdowns, missed appointments, reroutes, and other shipment-related issues.
  • Accurately update internal systems and Transportation Management Systems (TMS) with load status, notes, and other relevant information.
  • Assist in coordinating recovery plans and alternative solutions for late pickups, delayed deliveries, and other service disruptions.
  • Collaborate with operations, customer service, account management, and other internal teams to support successful shipment execution.
  • Maintain clear, accurate, professional, and timely communication in fast-paced and time-sensitive situations.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple active assignments while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Follow established company policies, procedures, operational processes, and applicable safety requirements.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned based on business and operational needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a third-party logistics (3PL) environment is required.
  • Experience coordinating, monitoring, or supporting freight shipments in a transportation or logistics operation is required.
  • Working knowledge of freight operations, including load monitoring, carrier communication, shipment tracking, and issue resolution.
  • Familiarity with truckload (TL) and less-than-truckload (LTL) transportation operations.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, time-sensitive operational environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify operational issues, exercise sound judgment, and respond effectively to time-sensitive situations.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong sense of urgency, ownership, and accountability.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook and Excel.
  • Experience using Transportation Management Systems (TMS), GPS tracking platforms, or similar logistics technology.

Schedule Requirements:

  • Regular schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
  • This position requires flexibility to provide support outside of regular business hours based on business and operational needs.
  • Additional work requirements may include (remote) evenings, overnight hours, weekends, and holidays.

Work Location Requirements:

  • This position requires full-time, on-site presence at our Wilmington, NC (28403) facility.
