What we’re looking for

The Registrar Collects patient demographic and insurance information for outpatient services. Collects insurance, co-pay, and deductibles at Point of Service. Quickly and efficiently expedites the registration process. Provides a positive first impression of the hospital to the public. This role serves as the Registrar in ER Registration.  

 

How you’ll contribute 

  • Ensure that all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered in the registration system with timeliness and accuracy.

  • Distribute and explain forms, documents, and educational handouts to patients or family members.

  • Meet with patient or patient's caregiver before or after admission to exchange necessary information and documentation.

  • Provide explanation of process and addresses concerns and questions.

  • Communicate with admitting physician's office, nursing unit staff, and/or other appropriate personnel regarding admission to exchange necessary information and determine placement.

  • Verify insurance benefits and obtain precertification/authorization as necessary. Determines and accepts required payments, including co-pays and deductibles, or refers to financial counselors for follow-up 

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED Preferred; Associate degree preferred. 

  • Certifications: Handle with Care certification required within 30 days of orientation and maintained annually.

  • Critical thinking skills and decisive judgment 

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision 

  • Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. 

 

Schedule: Full Time: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and every other Saturday 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
