Union Position - Shifts are determined by Seniority

Performs the following functions related to the manufacture of welded chain assemblies and/or other production activities as assigned:

  • Chain cutting – manual or with automatic equipment.
  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure. 
  • Assembly – chain accessories, connecting links, body chain, etc.
  • Welding – link preparation, welding and trim on specified equipment.
  • Heat Treatment – austenitizing and tempering, as prescribed.
  • Proof Load Testing – calibration or proof test as prescribed.
  • Packaging or other related activities – as prescribed.
  • Handling and movement of materials to, within, and out of the work cell.
  • The duties are to operate a welder from written or verbal instructions.
  • Repair chain and fabricate assemblies.

All employees are required to:                                       

  • Rely on a lead to set up and adjust equipment
  • Abide by safety policies, operator preventative maintenance and housekeeping practices.
  • Ensure the quality specifications of the product. 
  • Accurately complete process and quality documentation.
  • Communicate respectfully with others.
  • Work with limited supervision.
  • Operate Material Handling Equipment (Forklift, Pallet Jack, etc.)

Ability to move up to higher paying labor positions.
