Join our team and play a critical role in coordinating patient surgical care from scheduling through procedure preparation. The Surgery Scheduler & Coordinator serves as a liaison between patients, providers, and clinical teams to ensure surgeries and related procedures are scheduled accurately and efficiently while delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule surgical procedures and coordinate resources to support patient care and operational efficiency.
  • Register patients and verify demographic and insurance information prior to procedures.
  • Review physician orders for completeness and accuracy and update patient information in the electronic medical record.
  • Coordinate with physicians, clinical staff, patients, and other departments to ensure seamless surgical scheduling.
  • Maintain accurate scheduling records and communicate procedure details to all appropriate parties.
  • Collect and accurately document patient payments when applicable.
  • Provide outstanding customer service by addressing patient questions and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Support departmental quality initiatives and contribute to achieving operational goals.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience with data entry, computer systems, and standard office equipment required.
  • Previous experience in healthcare scheduling, surgical scheduling, patient registration, medical office administration, or customer service preferred.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize competing responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems and Microsoft Office applications preferred.
