Job Summary 

The Mechanical Designer is responsible for creating product drawings, writing specifications, and general drafting using Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools.  They will interface with customers, vendors, and all levels of the organization regarding drawings and specifications.  

 

Job Functions 

  • Createmodels andimplementdesign improvements, designconcepts,and layouts.  
  • Resolveproduct and application issuesthat may arise.
  • Generatenew orreviseexisting drawings and specificationsfor electric motors, components, tools, jigs,fixtures,and equipment layout. 
  • Calculatesmaterial requirements, compilesmateriallists,andmaintainsspecification files.
  • Interpretsdrawings and specificationsusingprecisionmeasuring instruments
  • Process Engineering Change Requests ina timelyandaccuratemanner

 

Qualifications 

  • Associate’sdegreeand 1 yearofprofessional experience inutilizing 2D and 3D CAD programs.
  • Ableto use small hand tools and measuring devices
  • Team player with strong project management skillsand take initiative
  • Ability to problem solve, use scientific principles and creativity to troubleshoot problems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
