WOOSTER COMMUNITY HOSPITAL JOB DESCRIPTION

                                                                                                                                           

Maintenance Mechanic - Project Team, OPERS Retirement Eligible

                                                                                                                                           

MAIN FUNCTION:        

Assists in keeping the physical structure and associated equipment of the Hospital in good repair.  Electrical, mechanical, plumbing and maintenance repairs related duties are of prime importance.

 

RESPONSIBLE TO:      Director/Manager, Facility/Maintenance

 

MUST HAVE REQUIREMENTS:

  1. High School Diploma or GED.
  2. 3-5 years’ experience in general mechanical maintenance. 
  3. Strong fundamental mechanical ability.
  4. Ability to occasionally lift up to 75 pounds.
  5. Ability to occasionally work at heights greater than 20 feet.
  6. Valid Ohio Driver's License. 
  7. No written disciplinary action within the last 12 months. 

 

PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES:

  1. Extensive commercial experience working with both high- and low-voltage electrical systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  2. Strong working knowledge of DNV, CMS, and NFPA requirements. 
  3. 2-year technical degree.
  4. Clean driving record. 

 

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Employees in this position may be:

  1. Exposed to blood, body fluids and/or airborne pathogens and are required to wear personal protective equipment.
  2. Exposure to dust, variable temperatures, and long or varied hours (due to emergencies).
  3. Must be able to push, pull, lift, carry, turn, crouch, and bend as necessary to complete tasks.
  4. Subject to Short Term Hours Reduction according to policy.

RESPONSIBILITES:

  1. Ability to be self-directed in executing responsibilities within a team structure.
  2. Performs minor electrical installation and repairs as needed.
  3. Performs basic carpentry as needed.
  4. Performs mechanical repairs of equipment.
  5. Performs minor plumbing installation and repairs as needed.
  6. Performs preventative maintenance to buildings and equipment as required.
  7. Maintains departmental equipment, and material inventory.
  8. Responsible for all house wide and departmental polices/procedures.
  9. Ability to respond to all emergency codes. 
  10. Performs other duties as assigned.
  11. Follows Appropriate Service Standards.
  12. Participates in departmental meetings and training as required.

  2. Assess customer satisfaction when interacting with customer and use appropriate chain of command for unresolved issues or problems.
  3.
