We're looking for a skilled, dependable Farm and Heavy Equipment Mechanic to keep our tractors, heavy equipment, and vehicles running strong. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in diagnosing problems quickly, making lasting repairs, and keeping the shop — and the farm — running smoothly. What You'll Be Responsible For Diagnose, repair, and maintain all equipment including tractors, heavy equipment, forklifts, harvesters, semis, and trailers Perform routine preventative maintenance on all equipment Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues or necessary repairs Utilize diagnostic laptop and other technology to pinpoint mechanical issues Provide on-site repair and maintenance services as needed Build hydraulic hoses Use a torch and weld to make necessary repairs Demonstrate Tater Farms' core values of respect, integrity, and dependability in all work activities and interactions with staff and leadership What We Expect Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems Dependability and sound judgment when prioritizing repairs across multiple pieces of equipment A safety-first mindset and consistent use of required PPE Commitment to Tater Farms' core values of respect, integrity, and dependability Qualifications Must have a valid Driver's License Must have 5 years of previous heavy equipment mechanic experience 3 years of farm specific experience preferred Experience with John Deere and Diesel Laptop diagnostic systems a plus Demonstrated commitment to Tater Farms' core values of respect, integrity, and dependability Physical Requirements & Work Environment Ability to lift and maneuver heavy tools and vehicle parts Upper body strength is essential for using hoists, jacks, and hand tools like wrenches and hammers Long hours of standing, walking, and performing repetitive tasks Endurance to complete multi-hour repairs without fatigue Frequent bending, squatting, crawling, and reaching into tight spaces Good range of motion in limbs to access hard-to-reach areas Must be able to work effectively in a non-climate-controlled shop Must adhere to eye protection required policy Must be able to shift from job to job if priorities require Must be able to work alone or with a team member as needs require What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off through accrued vacation Why Join Tater Farms?
