Job Summary:

Assist in soybean inventory and position grain in facility to maximize value by performing the following duties.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in coordinating inbound soybean receiving activities and segregation of product. 
  • Receive and inspect incoming raw materials, process aids, and packaging materials relevant to department.
  • Verifies loading instructions and paperwork to ensure accurate loading of product. 
  • Inspects interior for cleanliness and exterior for leaks or damage.
  • Follow all procedures and policies to meet the requirements of CERT-ID EU non-GMO certification.
  • Physically monitor the receiving/loading process to ensure proper flow. 
  • Monitors process results and makes the necessary physical adjustments to meet desired operating parameters.
  • Take the necessary steps to correct operations when running outside of the desired parameters.
  • Notify plant manager/supervisor of operational or equipment problems.
  • Maintain logs and follow preventive maintenance activities and records.
  • Take samples, analyze product quality, and record resulting test data.
  • Observe all plant and safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean work area to prevent IP trait contamination as well as reducing risk of dust accumulation.
  • Performs other related tasks as may be assigned.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

  • There are no supervisory responsibilities in this position. 

 

Education and Experience: 

  • Education: High School or Equivalent 
  • Experience: Less than 3 years 

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Knowledgeable in the safe operation of heavy machinery (loader, shuttle wagon). 
  • Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment; manages competing demands; able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
  • Ability to exhibit a professional manner in dealing with other departments, working to maintain constructive working relationships under all circumstances.   
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and management. 
  • Ability to maintain good attendance habits. 
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, or governmental regulations. 
  • Abide by all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description.
  • Abide by company’s safety, quality, environmental and HR policies at all times.

 

Physical Demands and Work Environment: 

  • Ability to work in work areas that are elevated up to 200 feet high, confined, and harnessed. 
  • Ability to bend, stand, kneel to lift objects of 50 pounds or more. 
  • Ability to walk for long period of time around interior and exterior of facility. 
  • Ability to use stairs around facility.
  • Ability to be respirator fit tested and trained.
  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, or airborne particles and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather condition, extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to very loud.
