Job Summary:

Responsible for the maintenance, repair and/or replacement of plant equipment and systems, to ensure maximum production and quality, while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of the company.  

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participates in the established maintenance plan and compliance with procedures for maintaining high standards of ethanol and by-products operations to ensure that products conform to established customer and company quality standards.  
  • Repairs or replaces plant equipment or systems on a scheduled or emergency basis.   Assists with diagnosing and trouble-shooting maintenance related issues.
  • Performs preventative maintenance activities as required.
  • Communicates directly with operations department to coordinate maintenance and repair work.
  • Assists with new installations and other projects, as requested by the supervisor.
  • Participates in safety, health, and environmental programs.  Works in a safe manner at all times.
  • Knows and understands city, county, state, and federal regulations relating to maintenance and plant equipment, and works in a manner to ensure that these regulations are met at all times.
  • Participates in programs and procedures required to ensure plant cleanliness.
  • Assist all other employees and departments as required for efficient plant operation.
  • Capable of performing and learning new industrial equipment mechanical repairs and basic electrical repairs. 
  • Provides a “Customer Service” attitude when interacting with internal and external customers while accomplishing work, production, and achieving quality standards.
  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instruction, and all safety requirements.
  • Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe workstation/environment at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.  

Education and Experience:

  • Education: High School or Equivalent required, and related technical field, certificate, or diploma from a trade school in related field, preferred. 
  • Experience: In-depth knowledge of maintenance and/or operation of a process manufacturing facility, preferred.

  • Working knowledge of plant equipment and safety.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment; manages competing demands; able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to build relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and senior level management. 
  • Ability to maintain good attendance habits. 
  • Abide by all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description.
  • Abide by company’s safety, quality, environmental and HR policies at all times.

 

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  •  Ability to complete a respiratory fit test (initially, then annually).
  • Able to work with heights up to and including 225 feet.
  • Able to work outside in all types of weather conditions.
  • Ability to work in areas subject to loud noise levels, odor, and airborne particles.
