Job Title: Staff Accountant

Reports to: Chief Financial Officer (FFC)

Location: Corporate Office (Houston, TX)

 

 

Position Description: 

The Staff Accountant has responsibility for creating, reviewing, and ensuring the quality control of financial statement reports, analysis and systems. This position will record and review transactions and the maintenance of the general ledger accounts. Prepares accounting entries to record recurring and special transactions relating to the revenue, costs and expenses for each functional area of the organization. Performs monthly reconciliations of the balance sheet accounts and maintains complete and accurate documentation of the reconciliations. Prepares monthly bank reconciliations, monthly calculations, and journal entries.  Works with the accounting team to coordinate activities in the Accounting Department to accomplish established goals. 


Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Associate’s Degree in Business Management, Accounting, Finance or related field. 
  • Two (2) years reconciliation experience and/or accounting or commission administration or accounts payable/accounts receivable experience.
  • Two (2) years customer service or general accounting and/or insurance billing. 
  • Proven track record of handling sensitive client information.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills including outstanding interpersonal and consultative skills
  • Demonstration of a high level of administrative competence
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of and highly skilled at setting priorities and managing multiple projects and processes
  • Knowledge and proficiency of Microsoft Office software components, especially excel
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with utilizing AI to be more efficient 

 

 

 

Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearances and successfully complete a thorough background check.
